COMMUNITY OUTREACH AT PFCS

Career Day
Keisha takes her passion for mental health beyond the office and directly into the classroom. During career day, she sits down with students to give them a real and honest look at what it means to be a mental health counselor. Keisha makes sure every student leaves with a better understanding of mental health and the courage to consider a career built around helping others.

Emotions in Full Color
During her career day presentation, Keisha introduces students to the emotions color wheel — a widely used counseling tool that helps individuals of all ages recognize, name, and understand their feelings. By bringing this resource into the classroom, Keisha not only sheds light on the counseling profession but also equips students with real skills they can carry with them for life.

Behind the sessions
As part of our community outreach, Keisha presents to elementary students on the work environment and daily life of a mental health counselor, bringing awareness to the field early on.

Present Where It Matters Most
PFCS believes that mental health support should meet people where they are. At this Community Education Council 19 outdoor event, Keisha and the PFCS team showed up alongside other local organizations to make sure community members had access to the resources and information they deserve. Events like these are a reminder that healing does not only happen behind closed doors — it starts in the heart of the community.

Side by Side with Our Community
PFCS is proud to be an active part of the communities we serve. Joining organizations like NYC Health and Gotham at this Community Education Council 19 event, Keisha brought mental health awareness directly to the people — creating opportunities for real conversations, meaningful connections, and access to support that can truly change lives.

Beyond the Office Walls
Some of the most important work happens outside of the office. PFCS joined community partners at this vibrant outdoor event hosted by Community Education Council 19, tabling alongside fellow organizations dedicated to the health and wellbeing of local families. Showing up in spaces like these is how PFCS continues to build trust, break stigma, and make mental health a conversation for everyone.

Bringing WELLNESS TO YOU
Wherever there is a community event, PFCS makes sure to have a seat at the table. With our logo proudly displayed and resources ready to share, Keisha and the team show up prepared to connect with community members face to face, answer questions, and let people know that mental health support is closer than they think. Every conversation started at that table has the potential to change someone’s life and that is exactly why we keep showing up.

Peace-Filled and Present
At the Lupus Awareness event, Keisha and a fellow team member sat down with the community to share PFCS resources, connect with attendees, and spark meaningful conversations about mental health. With flyers, information packets, and a warm smile, the PFCS table became a space where people could ask questions, learn about available support, and feel seen. Because showing up in community spaces is one of the most powerful things we can do for the people we serve.

What Are You Grateful For?
Sometimes the most powerful mental health tool is a simple question. During the Lupus Awareness event, PFCS set up a gratitude board inviting attendees to stop, reflect, and share what they are thankful for. From family to friendships, the responses were a beautiful reminder that even in the middle of life’s hardest moments, there is always something worth holding onto. This is the kind of intentional, heart centered engagement that PFCS brings to every community space.
