Group Care

There is strength in being understood.

Group therapy and support groups in Brooklyn and virtually across New York. Healing alongside people who recognize what you are describing — at a lower cost.

Compassionate care. At your pace.

You are welcome here

There is a particular relief in hearing a stranger describe your own life back to you.

Individual therapy gives you a room of your own. Group gives you something a therapist cannot — the evidence that you are not the only one, said out loud by someone who has no reason to be kind about it.

What group therapy is here

Our groups are led by a Peace-Filled therapist and built around a shared experience. Members work on their own goals in a room of people working on something similar, sharing what they are learning as they go.

More about what group therapy is here

You are not required to talk. Plenty of people spend their first sessions listening, and that is a legitimate way to be in the room.

Our established groups

We run standing groups built around the people we serve.

More about our established groups

H.E.R. Diary — a women's group for those ready to heal, grow, and reclaim their voice. Communication, relationships, confidence, and healing, in a culturally affirming space.

S.Q.U.A.D. — Showing Quality Unbiased Affirmative Direction. A weekly group for teen girls, where they learn to manage stress, depression and anxiety, build real friendships, talk about teen stuff, and become the best version of themselves.

Parenting Group — parenting is a journey that requires a strong village. A safe space to share the struggles and the joys, and to leave with parenting strategies that actually work.

Meeting times, ages, and current availability are listed on each group's page.

Why people choose group

  • Recognition. Some things only land when they come from someone who has
  • Practice. Communication and boundaries are skills, and a group is a place
  • Community. Several members stay connected long after the group ends.

Group alongside individual therapy

These are not alternatives. Many clients do both — individual sessions for the private work, group for the part that needs other people in the room.

More about group alongside individual therapy

Your therapist can tell you whether a group would add something, and which one.

What starting looks like

Reach out and tell us what you are looking for. We will tell you which groups are running, when they meet, what they cost, and whether one is a good fit right now. If the timing is wrong we will tell you that too.

Your next step

You do not have to do this alone, and you do not have to do it in silence.
