Substance Use Support
You do not have to take the next step alone.
Counseling support for people affected by substance use, and for the families around them, in Brooklyn and virtually across New York.

Compassionate care. At your pace.
You are welcome here
Maybe you have started counting. How much, how often, how long since the last time you did not.
Maybe it is not you — it is someone you love, and you have been carrying it quietly for a while now.

Either way, this is a place you can say it out loud.
What we offer
We provide counseling support for people whose lives are being affected by substance use, and for the families and partners carrying it alongside them.
- What sits underneath the use — stress, trauma, pain, or a way of coping that
- Understanding your own patterns, honestly and without a lecture
- Building other ways to manage what the substance has been managing
- The anxiety, depression or trauma that so often runs alongside it
- Family impact — for the people who love someone using, and are exhausted
More about what we offer
Our work focuses on:
How we work with this
We start where you are, not where someone else thinks you should be. You do not have to arrive having decided anything.
More about how we work with this
The work looks at what the use is doing for you, because it is doing something — that is why it is hard to stop. From there we look at the beliefs and pressures that keep the pattern running, and build something that does the same job at a lower cost.
For many people this is trauma work. If that is your story, your therapist will work there too.
For families
If you are the parent, partner, sibling or adult child of someone using, you are carrying something real and you are allowed to get support for it — whether or not the person using is ready for any.
What we are and are not
This page must state plainly:
- Whether Peace-Filled provides substance use treatment or supportive counseling
- Whether any clinician holds a substance use credential such as CASAC
- What the practice refers out, and where
- Whether the practice works with clients in active use, or in recovery, or both
More about what we are and are not
Being clear about scope builds more trust than a broad claim, and being unclear about it is a scope-of-practice risk.
