  1. Meet Keisha

Keisha supports high-achieving women in building confidence and self-esteem and addressing the effects of trauma. As a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, she brings a whole-person approach to individual and couples counseling, with a Christian perspective available for clients who wish to include their faith in therapy.

Keisha J. Sando founded Peace-Filled on a simple conviction: that the women who hold everyone else together deserve someone to hold them. A New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than eighteen years in the field, she built this practice to be the place she wished had existed — warm, culturally grounded, and unafraid of the hard parts.

  2. Background and training

Keisha earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Eastern University and her Master's in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University. She holds advanced clinical training in trauma systems work and trauma-focused treatment, and is a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional.

That integrative certification shapes how she practices. Keisha works with clients on the ways nutrition, movement, rest, and daily rhythm affect mental health, and she is glad to coordinate with a client's other providers when alternative and conventional care work better together.

  3. Who she works with

Keisha works with high-achieving women who want to build confidence and self-esteem, work through trauma, and make space for their own wellbeing alongside the demands of their lives. She also works with couples, offering support for their relationship concerns.

Keisha connects especially well with women who find themselves caught in negative thinking patterns and repeating cycles in their relationships. She has also spent years helping reunify children and families — teaching households to focus on the wellness of each individual, and helping clients build practical skills for managing anger, reducing stress, and rebuilding self-confidence.

  4. Her approach

Keisha takes an integrative approach that considers emotional wellbeing alongside nutrition, movement, rest, and daily rhythms. For clients who desire it, she offers a Christian perspective in therapy, making room for faith as part of their counseling experience.

Keisha's work starts with the question underneath the symptom. Rather than managing the surface, she helps clients recognize the root of what they are carrying, then works alongside them to change the perspective that keeps it in place — because when perspective shifts, behavior follows, and feeling follows behavior.
